Melon production in Licata (Agrigento)

The sowing period is brought forward thanks to the Sicilian micro-climate

Licata is an enchanting little town in the province of Agrigento, at the very heart of the Mediterranean. Here, at just 5 to 10 km from the northern coast of Sicily, our local farmers harvest the very first Italian melons of the season. Thanks to the mild maritime micro-climate, sowing and harvesting of the melons can be significantly brought forward, bringing them to the tables of the consumers starting from end of April.
